The debut album from Burial was probably the album of the year 2006 and it’s a lovely fusion of 2-step, Dubstep and Dub poetry.
Some tracks reminds me of the London 2-step era around 2000. Good memories!

Sandwell District – Feed Forward
These guys has been surrounded by a big thick haze. The UK label Sandwell District which has been around since 2002 I think and has been without a web site, without e-mail, without telephone, they’ve just got an fax number to get in touch. It’s still like this and I love it! :-)
Okay, to the record. The group or the dj duo as it begun is Regis and Function which makes fantastic releases solo. This is and record with a dark, metallic sound. Hard 4/4′s but not too hard with nice sweeping pads which get you into trance in no time.
Falling the Same Way, SVAR and Immolare are the highlights. Immolare, Immolare, Immolare, I’m mean if this doesnt make you dance then you have a problem. And then the ending of it, so beautiful!
No time left for me now. Get it!

“I didn’t want to write ‘beats,’” says Gold Panda, “I didn’t want bangers. I wanted songs with structure.” Yes they have great structure but yet like the track Vanilla Minus and Marriage they are bangers by definition!
Probably one of the best live acts this year, Gold Panda @ Melt festival!

I first heard Emika on a white whith Double Edge in the summer last year. The deep dubstep with her sweet and soft voice it was a smash. I was thinking I want to hear more from this lady and hoped for an EP with the same deep sound. It went out to be an whole album! :-) And yes it’s deep and dub all the way but with her very original sound! Released on Ninja Tune

Dominik Eulberg – Diorama
With his fourth album Dominik shows that electronic music is able to be more alive than a rainforest. This album is something special with track names Neunauge, the oldest vertebrate existing on the world.
Some people say this is just an album for the home, but I cant agree. For examples enjoy Das Neunauge, Teddy Tausendtod and the fantastic Der Tanz der Gluehwuermchen. These are tracks for a concrete floor and a huge sound system. The whole album however works very well in the living room as well!
